Definition of "Modification"
In Maryland, issues of support, alimony, custody, and visitation can be revisited if circumstances change from the original hearing. This change must be material and substantial, affecting the children. For example, if at the time of the original hearing both parties were living in Maryland and one party moved then this could constitute a substantial change in circumstances.
